These are Crye Precision Structural Kinetic Support Systems or STKSS for short. The STKSS were designed to allow the end user to selectively transfer some or all of the weight of their plate carrier off their shoulders/ spine and transfer it to the hips. The overarching idea behind the STKSS is to reduce strain and injury potential that is common with wearing heavy equipment for long periods of time.
